At Smart Skills Academy we are committed to ensuring that our online training courses are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive and user-friendly experience that accommodates diverse needs in compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and web accessibility standards.

Website Accessibility

We aim to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 to ensure our website is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users. To achieve this, we:

  • Use clear and simple language for easy comprehension.

  • Ensure our website is navigable via keyboard and mouse users.

  • Maintain a responsive design for compatibility with various devices and assistive technologies.

Training Accessibility

Our coaching services are designed to accommodate a wide range of learning needs. We offer:

  • Plain language in all documents

  • Easy to follow videos that can be paused or rewatched at any time

  • Self-paced learning — work through the course whenever suits you, with no fixed schedule or deadlines

  • Short videos ranging between 5-15 minutes to accommodate shorter attention spans

  • Documents where the screen size can be increased to allow for easier reading.

  • High-contrast fonts and background colours which are dyslexic friendly

  • Multiple Formats are used throughout the course  including PDF, Word, Audio/Video to cater to different learning needs.

Live Training Accessibility

For live, in-person or virtual Training for Teams sessions, we're happy to make reasonable adjustments so everyone in the room, or on the call, can take part fully. This can include:

  • Advance sharing of session materials and slides

  • Larger text or high-contrast slide formatting on request

  • Captions or a transcript for virtual sessions where the platform supports it

  • Flexible pacing and built-in breaks for longer sessions

  • Accommodating specific access requirements discussed in advance
